In the year 2007 I was a shy little Year 9. Over the last five years Naenae College has turned me into a confident, determined smiley young lady. I have been very lucky to meet such wonderful people here who have helped me achieve my goals. I have been involved in many extracurricular activities such as, netball, basketball, rugby, kapa haka, polygroup and Senior Council. The main activity that got me confident as I am today was the kapa haka group, Te Whanau Tahi.
Over the years I have gained skills I never thought I had. When I reached Year 11 I became the leader for my group and led the group at two regional and one national competition doing very well in all three of them and also being awarded first place leader for both regionals. Te Whanau Tahi (the whole school) is very strong throughout our school and everyone is one big whanau. No matter what race we may be, we all connect as one family and our school is very special for that.
I have loved every single day of my five years here at Naenae College and will never forget the awesome experiences I have had here. 2007 as a shy little girl, to 2011 a confident, smiley head girl! Naenae College brings out the best in you and I will always grasp on to our moto forever –
Kia ihi Kia maru!
