Multi-cultural Day and Concert

This was an extraordinary event celebrating the culture, food, music, oratory, and dance of the students and staff of Naenae College. A huge sense of pride was felt as we dressed in our national costumes, ate a variety of food from different ethnic groups, and enjoyed the flag ceremony and concerts.

The concert was a highlight for students, families and staff associated with Naenae College and had sell out crowds attending.

After the opening Whaikorero, Kapa Haka gave a stunning performance from their winning bracket for Nationals. This was followed by a variety of ethinic group items including Filipino, Rwandan, Bollywood, Cambodian, Tongan, Fijian, Hawaiian, Cook Island, and Samoan to name but a few.

People said –

“There’s nothing like this anywhere else in the country”

“The quality and professionalism of the concert was outstanding”

Coming together as a unified family – Te Whanau Tahi, showing who we are and highlighting our heritage and unique differences made the day a huge success. Together we did it. Let’s keep lifting the standard for 2014.
